Welcome to The Dawn of Equus Rescue & Sanctuary

Stryker and his herd invite you to enter a world

where thundering hooves create a primal beat

Healing With Horses

that echoes across the vast expanses. With the

wind blowing through their manes and hearts

beating as one the herd moves in a powerful

dance of synchrony.    A greater whole is

created, which provides safety, nurturing

and kinship while celebrating freedom

of spirit and self-expression. Existence is

intimately entwined with the capricious

forces of nature. Within the soul of Equus

exists an ancient wisdom and a vital awareness

of the intricate web that connects all living beings.

This is The World of The Horse!

The Dawn of Equus Rescue & Sanctuary is a special place of healing and transformation for women,

horses and nature. Founder, Dr. Sandie G. Hucal, has created an innovative program that integrates

Equine-Facilitated Wellness (EFW) and Nature-Centred Therapy (NCT) with a rescue for horses and

donkeys. The therapy herd consists primarily of equines rescued from neglect, abuse or slaughter.

Our logo emphasizes the essence of our program...

The Mutual Empowerment of Humans and Horses.

By honouring the horse as a sacred, sovereign being with his own culture, way of perceiving the world

and unique personality, soul gifts and calling in this lifetime we are dedicated to advancing the evolution

of the Horse-Human Relationship.

We ultimately envision The Dawn of a new era for Equus.

Our "Healing with Horses" program includes:

•   Equine-Facilitated Wellness (EFW) for Women

•  Empowering Horses: A Journey of Discovery

•  Nature-Centred Therapy
